We have Library each Monday morning. Make sure to send back your child’s library book each Monday or your child won't be able to get a new library book. If you finish with your book early, please just keep it in your child’s backpack until our next library time Monday morning. This is a great way to get kids excited about books and reading different books each week. It is your child’s responsibility to get their book out of their backpack every Monday on our way to Library. I remind them when they are unpacking to place their book in their cubby. Thanks for all of your help with this!
PLEASE make sure that your child has a water bottle EVERYDAY! We don't have a fountain in our classroom, but having a water bottle in the room makes it possible for the children to get the water they need as often as they want. A bottle with a straw is preferred. I clean up spilled water daily from water bottles without a straw. We have even had children slip in water on the floor from spills. Help keep everyone safe. Research shows that a hydrated brain is more able to learn. J
We will have a snack everyday at 2:45. Please only send snacks that can easily be eaten in 10 minutes as well. Dry, finger foods are preferred. Items requiring utensils are best saved for lunch. Thank you for your support to keeping the educational integrity of our day with a quick and easy snack.
Please remember that although students can bring nuts in their lunch to eat in the cafeteria, we cannot have nuts/peanut products for snack in the classroom. Also, please note, our classroom is a fish/seafood free space. Help keep our students will allergies safe.
Quality Student Handbook
Please review Prince William County's Code of Behavior (in the file section or http://pwcs.schoolfusion.us/modules/cms/pages.phtml?pageid=272031 ). Make sure your child understands the expectations, rules, regulations, policies and procedures it contains. Tyler also has a Quality Student handbook. You can find a copy in the file section at the bottom of this page. Please sign and return the last page from the Quality Student Handbook. Thank you for supporting your child's education and safety. Any student who fills out and brings in the last page of their Quality Student Handbooks will receive an extra S+ for Social Studies.
