Mrs. Graham's Second Grade
Welcome to room 102. We will focus on becoming a
"school family" during the first quarter. Through the month of
September, we will be working on "Quality Student" behaviors, rules,
routines, and a safe/fun environment. Please be sure to read and sign
your child's agenda each evening. You can reach me by phone
(703-754-7181), email: email@example.com, or through notes. Thank you for
sharing your child with me. I am looking forward to a wonderful year in
Vision: Mrs. Grahams Class: We are the "Super-Engaged, Presidents" of learning. We RULE when it comes to school!
Mission: We will achieve this by being engaged, bully-free and using SLANT. We will always try our best, treat others the way we want to be treated, and be the BEST that we can be! We will be Quality Students at ALL times. We will be in the right place at the right time.
Welcome to Mrs. Graham's 2nd Grade Page!
We are working to earn money for SmartBoards and IPads. The Boosterthon and Fun Run are here at Tyler to encourage Character building and healthy habits. We will be raising money next week to go toward class incentives as well as individual student prizes. We have already earned "lunch with the Boosterthon Bunch", "Extra Recess" on Monday, and we are working toward "Shoes-Off" day. Each child who logs on will get a wrist band.
When: Weekend Challenge
Subject: Special weekend challenge
Thank you again for supporting our school through the George G. Tyler Elem. Fun Run!
This weekend we are issuing a special challenge. Visit funrun.com to see the bonus prize your child can earn simply by getting a total of $2 per lap in new pledges (or $60 in flat donations) this weekend only.
And if you’re looking for an easy way to ask for a pledge, create your very own Student Star Video by uploading a photo of your student to funrun.com. It’s a fun movie trailer starring your child! You can share it on email or social media to ask for a pledge.
Thank you again for helping our class.
PS - If you haven’t registered your child on funrun.com, use our school registration code: 213581
We are off to a great start in first quarter! For the last 3 weeks, our class has been learning about Citizenship, Rules, and Famous Americans.
A few things to remember:
1. Please sign and return your child's agenda each day.
2. Ask your child to tell you about what they are learning in each subject.
3. Reading every night for at least 20 minutes helps your child read fluently, comprehend what he/she has read, and will instill a love for reading.
Please review the Quality Student Handbook below in the documents section and print/sign/return the last page.
Tyler Elementary will hold Field Day on Friday, October 14th. Rain date will be determined if necessary. Field day will be divided into 2 sessions. Pre-Kindergarten AM, Kindergarten, 1st grade and 2nd grade will participate in activities from 9:15am to 11:15am. Pre-Kindergarten PM, 3rd Grade, 4th Grade and 5th Grade will participate from 1:15pm to 3:15pm.
Your child’s class will rotate together from station to station and participate in different games and activities. We are in need of parent volunteers who would like to help run the stations. We will provide you with all the instructions and information on how to run the games.
Your help is greatly appreciated. We are also looking for donations of water bottles. Please sign up where ever you can help out!
