Hello Preschool Parents!

Hello preschool parents! Although finding ways to help your child continue his learning and to stay structured while school is not in session is very important, I do know that it can also be quite challenging. Some questions you may be asking yourself are "What are some things I can do with my child to practice important skills while at home?" or "How can I structure my child's day so that he can stay busy while learning?". Please see my "Activities" folder located in the Files and Documents link as I have provided a variety of activity ideas, and other information to assist you. Please also take a moment to click on the Useful Links as I have listed some sites that may provide you with some helpful resources.

**I have also provided some quick links to some online digital learning activities to help your child practice some of the skills we have been working on in school. To access these, click on the folder "Boom Learning Activities" in the files and documents tab. Each week, I will be updating this folder with new activities.  Let me know if you have any questions.

One important thing to keep in mind is the importance of PLAY. All areas of development are enhanced through play and children acquire much of their language through interactive play. So, when in doubt as to what to do with your child to keep him busy and learning while at home, play, play, play!! Including outdoor play! This is also a good time to read with your child. Read to or with your every day as it can help them to build key language, literacy and social skills. Also, be sure to build in time for some music and movement as it is not only good for re-directing your child's energy, but listening to and moving with music can help to promote self expression as well as important developmental skills such as thinking, problem solving, memory, language and more! Some of our favorite songs to learn from and move to are those from SuperSimpleSongs and from Pattyshukla.
